So for more than 1/2 the book, I really didn't like Jared. He annoyed me, he was a bit shifty and I hated the way he treated Connor. It pissed me off. But I guess he's not so bad. He was just lost and trying to figure out who he is. Which is fine. But maybe I would have been a bit more sympathetic towards him if I'd been able to get his POV, his emotional turmoil. I don't get the whole Veronica thing. I don't feel her "sickness" wasn't really necessary to carry the story. But I loved how much Connor grew over the course of the story. I hurt for him and his struggles with socializing. It was nice to see him come out of his shell with Rebecca's friendship.
