Healing Hunter's Heart

Healing Hunter's Heart - Charlie Cochet At the end of book one, we saw Hunter and Ari as an already established couple, when Trip declared he was leaving the Hagan clan and starting his own elsewhere. Ari stayed behind in order to save Hunter, and Hunter had no choice but to leave with the new Deagan clan.

In this book, we are taken back five years to when they became a couple. I was worried that the book would pick up after they had already been separated. So I was glad to be given this glimpse back in time to see them come together as a couple.

Then we are thrown back to the present where a war between the Hagan and Deagan clans is brewing. The Hagan clan has decided to kill off the Deagan clan with the exception of the Alpha pups. But things go wrong when Ari’s mom works her own obsessive agenda of power, causing even more heartbreak.

We got to see dogs. Playing, frolicing, and fighting. One of my favorite parts of any shifter story is seeing the shifters spend time in their animal form. They become different creatures. And I don’t mean in the obvious physical sense. But in their whole being. Their very nature is different and they are more instinctual. And who doesn’t like to see animals playing and having fun? It's just cute. Especially dogs. :)

I love when the big bad tough guy turns into melty puddles by his lover. It's just so cute to see the softy underneath that tough exterior. Hunter definitely fits the bill. He and his brother are known as The Devil Dogs. They are half-breeds. Half wolf, half husky. So they are larger, stronger shifters and feared by many, because of their more feral nature.

If you haven’t read book 1, [b:An Intrepid Trip to Love|17874499|An Intrepid Trip to Love (A Little Bite of Love #1)|Charlie Cochet|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1367347083s/17874499.jpg|25027637], I highly recommend it before reading this one. But it’s a free read. So go grab it and get caught up. Because the events that take place in book 1 set the stage for this book.
